Yediot is reporting that 7-11 hoped their new self checkout system would work well in Israel but they discovered many were just walking out with the goods without paying, so after just a day they put a guard at the door to make sure people paid for their food

    They should have done more market research. There is usually a guard outside any supermarket that has a self checkout (a la Osher Ad, Supersal, etc)

    But it is sad that it is necessary.
