I am not going to say this is good or bad, but I think it is unprecedented in Israel and we have seen other such unprecedented demands, or really acquiescences, since the start of this war.
Israel used to proudly state that we will take aide (which is mostly spent in the USA on equipment and supplies) but we will never take active help from foreign entities. no US (or any other) soldiers will fight for Israel, only Israeli soldiers will.
We have seen Anthony Blinken participate in a cabinet meeting discussing strategy. We have seen President Biden requesting delays, dictating policy, and talking tactics publicly with Israeli leadership.
Again, good or bad that we are letting the US increase its involvement I dont know but it is an interesting development and change.

I've thought Israel should pass the care, feeding, and diaper changes of Gaza to the EU and US. "You like them so much, you take care of them. We're building mine fields and a solid wall around Gaza with NO gates."
ReplyDeleteBecause this is the first war Israel has ever fought where they aren't the only ones on their side. It is quite likely that Iran will uses its proxies to enter the war and may also launch attacks on American targets in the area. Israel may also need help pacifying Hezbollah and maybe even the Houthis. Coordination is essential.
ReplyDeleteThe tzava has to only look for help from Hashem. How could they succeed with having the umot 'help' who really despise us - not good.
