  2. Last night, during a discussion that I was having at home about the Emannuel issue and the quota system that is in many chreidi schools, i asked my daughter, who learns in a Dati Leumi high school, if she ever witnessed any "haflaya" (rasist issues) towards sefardi girls in her school. She answerd me, "I don't know. I don't know the difference who is sefardi and who is ashkenazi in my school."

  3. Yehudah,

    Finally!

That is exactly how I feel about my education in Brooklyn. We were all in one class, but we didn't really care about our backgrounds. That was our private business once we got home... Technically speaking, my friends and I were of Chassidish, Yekki and Sephardi descent. I couldn't even tell you that background of some of them. It wasn't ever an issue, it was never really spoken about.

and that's the way it should be.

p.s. moderation is the key, extremism is wrong. Extremists throughout Jewish history have caused alot of damage. we need to learn from our mistakes.
