Picture of the Day

This and similar signs were seen on the doors of a number of houses around Bet Shemesh on Purim...

    1. Aren't you the guy who called, on your blog, Bayit Yehudi - Bayit shel Goyim? Not Yeudim toim (mistaken Jews). Or even Yehudim reshaim (wicked Jews). But Goyim? A Jew, even though he sins, is still a Jew. But not to you or your ilk. That reveals the problem right there.

  2. Listen, they are right. These are truly the children of Amalek and they prove it by their actions

    1. ooh after reading your comments i would really love to become religious

    2. @ anonymous: Oh, did you want to become religious when you read the sign?
@ yoni: I am imagining a Chareidi guy collecting for widows and orphans being shunned by the Daati Leumi crowd because of something a Rav said in anguish over the draft law. Yeah, that strikes me as having the Midah of, if not Amalek, then at least his grandfather Esav.
@Chana: Do you feel that all Chareidim should be lumped in one basket because of the words of some Rabbonim who are in anguish over the criminalization of those who want to learn instead of fight? Should the whole Daati Leumi be held responsible, and their Tzedaka's ignored by the Chareidi community because they called Chareidim parasites?

    3. I almost always refuse Charedi collectors because I believe that perpetuating their perversion of Halachah is not Tzedakah. Their view of the draft law is irrelevant to me.

And I have heard that few, if any, Charedi Shuls in BS allow appeals for Lemaan Achai.

    4. No, that is not what I am saying *should* happen. I'm saying that this is the natural outcome of cursing entire populations and insulting them.
Especially when representatives of the group who behaves in a hostile manner comes and requests money.

I think you will find that the DL community now feels it has less and less in common with the Haredi, and therefore cares less and less about Haredi opinion.

And DL individuals rarely come asking for donations from Haredim.

Their Tzedaka's already ARE ignored by the Chareidi community!

  4. it was put up by some dati leumi people protesting the fact that some haredi rabbonim have recently been calling their community names like amalek and other thigns.. saying if you think we are amalek dont come here collecting money.

  6. I think it's brilliant. The only other quote they might use is "Nu, Torah study protects but it doesn't pay the bills?"

  7. The 'funny' thing is that the Haredi rabbis throwing mud are mistakenly thinking that the Bayit Yehudi have directing rabbis like the Haredi parties have rabbis. So the mud slinging Haredi rabbis are throwing mud at air, because the BY does not have rabbis in the first place.

  8. Obviously this was written by an oleh hadash (or yashan) - note the grammatical error.

  9. I see less and less people in Anglo shuls giving Chareidi collectors or offering "tremps" on Hayarden in RBS B. At this point, given all the venom coming out of the Chareidi press and politicians, I think you'd have to be some kind of tzaddik to support them.

  10. I would not put the poster, but at this period of the year coming up to Pesach especially, the number of shnorrers coming to the door is bound to increase. Maybe stick an Israeli flag on your door, even change your buzzer tune to Hatikva - how about thqat for an idea!!

  11. The line about Amalek is actually spot-on -- it is ASSUR to benefit from Amalek. So if they are asking for DL tzedekah money they CLEARLY disagree with their own Rabbis. WHAT DO THE HAREDIM SAY ABOUT THIS INTERNAL CONTRADICTION? its a legitimate question -- they can't have it both ways.
The last line is just plain nasty- REALLY nasty. BTW as a Daati Leumi in RBS I always give tramps to the haredi amcha (who are well-meaning jews who just lack all common sense) -- I would never punish the amcha for their WICKED askanim (Deri in Sha$-LO, United "Tora" Judiasm accepting NIS 280 million for GK expulsion)

  12. Haredi-ism, the closest religion to JudaismMarch 18, 2014 10:43 PM

The poster is hilarious, and the people to whom it's directed - at least the ones who don't get it - are a bunch of f-ing morons. Haredim are poor because, contrary to what the Torah and halacha demand, they choose not to work for a living, and they choose to have more kids than they can afford to support. (Funny thing how haredi families in the USA, where state hand-outs are harder to come by, have fewer kids. What do they know about contraception that Israeli haredim don't?) They then expect the rest of us to finance their fantasy world, both involuntarily through taxes and voluntarily by contributions. Here's a tip to those morons: if you want someone to give you money, it's probably not a good idea to call that person Amalek.

And for those haredim who say, "it's not all of us!": get a spine, or some testicles, or whatever you call it, and the next time there's a big issue, organize a protest in favor of army service; or against the perverts in your community who have nothing better to do with their time than sexually harass little girls; or supporting vocational training. As long as the only voices the rest of us hear are the voices of your rabbis who have managed to turn limud Torah into a hillul Hashem - no small feat, I gotta tell ya - we will continue to lump all of you together.

  13. for all those upset at the chutzpah of people who do this... it seems haredim in Jerusalem have done exactly the sae thing, banning collecters who are associated with Rav Shmuel Auerbach's group.. http://www.kikarhashabat.co.il/%D7%9B%D7%90%D7%9F-%D7%9C%D7%90-%D7%AA%D7%95%D7%A8%D7%9E%D7%99%D7%9D-%D7%9C%D7%AA%D7%9C%D7%9E%D7%99%D7%93%D7%99-%D7%94%D7%A8%D7%91-%D7%90%D7%95%D7%99%D7%A8.html

  15. I was very sad to find out that Rabbi Eidensohn was behind much of the Anglos for Abutbol campaign. As a parent in his school and an admirer of Kupa, I expected more from him.
