Ein Yahav grows wacky cucumbers

Israeli vegetable growers continue to do interesting things with their produce...

The agronomists of Ein Yahav continue to surprise. Last year they announced they are growing Habanero Peppers, which is unusual for Israel... and now the growers of Ein Yahav have announced that they have developed a cucumber in the shape of a heart and in the shape of a star.

They say the cucumber is meant for the gourmet food market, due to the special natural design and shape of the veggie. Also, it is meant to encourage kids to eat healthier, as it will arouse their curiosity.

if they were already going to grow the cucumbers in the shape of a star, I would have expected them to choose a six-pointed star (a magen dovid), rather than a five-pointed star...
