Know when to fold 'em. Know when to walk away. And know when to run

In the previous government, every Monday and Thursday Yair Lapid threatened to take down the government if he did not get his way on whatever issue was being discussed.

Eventually Benjamin Netanyahu got so frustrated with Lapid's threats that he said enough is enough and he called new elections.

This government is looking very similar to the last government.

Twice within the past week or so the coalition lost votes in the Knesset because frustrated coalition members disappeared and did not support the coalition position. Everyother day another coalition member threatens to bring down the government if x, y or z does not happen. Now Aryeh Deri is threatening. This morning it was Smotritz. The other day it was Bennet. Gafni has made, and is making again, his threats, as has Eichler. Uri Ariel and Motti Yogev have not toed the coalition line either on a variety of issues.

At what point does Netanyahu say enough is enough and send everyone home, like he did in the last government?

As Kenny Rogers says, You've got to know when to hold 'em. Know when to fold 'em. Know when to walk away. And know when to run...

  2. Too early. You only start getting a pension if you are an MK for two years. If the Knesset folds earlier than that, than at least 39 people (new MKs in the current Knesset) will be out of work, without severance pay and with no eternal pension.
