Picture of the Day

That is Minister Uri Ariel and his wife on a return trip from Turkey, sitting in Economy Class on the airplane. Mrs. Ariel paid for her own ticket, as her trip accompanying Uri was private and personal, and Uri chose to sit in Economy Class instead of having the government pay $5000 for his ticket in Business Class or First Class. From personal knowledge, Ariel is also on the tall side, so I am sure he was a bit cramped in there. When other passengers realized who he is, they were surprised and impressed that he was sitting in Economy, unlike the other Ministers who travel regularly to Turkey.

    1. It's a very short flight.

    2. that might be so, but from what I read it is fairly common to have government ministers and reps on these flights, and they always sit in first and business class (eve though it is a short flight), so this was highly unusual.

  2. what's funny is that guy behind him is reading Haaretz, probably an article denouncing Ariel in the stringest possible terms. Hope he won't kick his seat.
