It is a tragedy, and a travesty, that National Hot Dog Day is scheduled during the "Nine Days" when observant Jews cannot eat hot dogs.

  3. "during the "Nine Days" when observant Jews cannot eat hot dogs."

Observant Ashkenazim cannot. Observant Sephardim can.
