Harav Elya Brudny On Going to the Super Bowl (video)

I did not realize that so many people in Lakewood are going to the Superbowl that this is an issue... he's talking about going to the stadium, as he says specifically, not even just watching the game on the computer or television..

  1. He means the Super Bowl parties.
And the Super Bowl parties and platters by all the kosher restaurants and take out stores in ...Lakewood ... (and his neighborhood, Flatbush)

    1. You're crooked like a corkscrew. Why would you take his words out of context? He said going to the stadium for the superbowl. SMH

  2. Not so pashut. R. Moshe Feinstein (Igrot Moshe YD 4:11) says clearly that going to a stadium is NOT the lav of 'bechukotechem lo telechu'. Bitul Torah, maybe. Appropriate for a Ben Torah, probably not. But not this.

  3. 1) As mentioned earlier, R. Brudny is in Brooklyn, NYC, where this address was given, not Lakewood.

    2) He was speaking generally, loosely. Don't assume he is privy to statistics of how many locals have tickets for the game (I suspect none or very few). ;-)
