Quote of the Day

fringe youth led the riots yesterday in Bnei Braq, and I am guilty? My children are guilty? Why are we getting this image? The Haredi community has suffered the most from the pogroms this week and the people meant to deal with them are the police of Amir Ohana... Suddenly now the morbidity rate is high, so they have started to attack us again. We are not guilty. You made us go live in these crowded conditions, you are guilty.

  -- MK Moshe Gafni (UTJ)

who "made" them go live in these ocnditions?

  1. If it is only a fringe that are responsible for the violence and disregarding the safety measures, why did the Haredi parties oppose raising fines for lockdown violations?

I would have thought that this would be a great way to stop this fringe element damaging the reputation of the rest of the community -unless the Haredi parties think that the rule-breakers are more than a fringe

    1. To be fair, I think he means the rioters are a fringe, not the rule breakers.

But the whole statement is lame. If there are so many fringe youths there, then they have a serious problem with their chinuch.
