Olympic medals from Ali Express

According to Israel Hayom, Israeli bronze medalist from the Tokyo Olympics Sagi Muki has had to send back his medal.

No, Muki has not bee found to have been using steroids or anything like that.

It looks like the Japanese made their medals for the Tokyo Olympics at makeamedal.com or something like that.

According to Muki, the medal has started peeling and discoloring. And Muki's medal is not the only one. It seems a trampoline champion from China has also experienced the same with her medal.

Honestly this is surprising coming out of Japan, a country seemingly imbued with a tradition of integrity. This seems more like a Russian or Chinese or Israeli problem than Japanese. Yet it is a Japanese problem.

Hopefully the replacement medal will be better quality and not bought on Ali Express!

Get Muki the medal he deserves!

  1. Some time back they stopped making simple gold, silver, and bronze medals and began making them all fancy, like mostly glass with a gold edge and so on. I wouldn't be surprised if this is a fallout of that.
