Quote of the Day

Today we will approve a compensation package of half a million shekels for each family that lost a loved one in the Meron tragedy. This is a very serious humanitarian situation, and the government of Israel is offering a hand. The State should take responsibility, even before the conclusions of the investigative committee, which can still take a lot of time... this year the celebration in Meron will look different. We will allow it to take place in a safe manner. Whoever goes to Meron - does not need to endanger his life. I rely on the Minister of Religious Affairs and on the rest of the ministers involved in this. The compensation will not bring back the 45 people who died there but at least it will help the families get through such a difficult period.

  1. s the state admitting culpability? If it's humanitarian, why not take need into account?

    1. good question. I dont think. they are, not from anything he said. I think for culpability they will wait for the results of the investigation and not jump any guns. Maybe they did take need into account, and found them all relatively equally needy. I wonder what the families of the non-Israeli victims will get.
