-- MK Yitzchak Pindrus (UTJ)
I dont know what he should have said, but saying this isnt going to garner any sympathy for the Haredi position ....

The Chareidi approach is always to creat antagonism. They need outside society to be hostile so they can tell their people "See! They hate us! Stay here in the ghetto where it's safe."
ReplyDeleteBecause everything he said is bovine faeces and is meant to piss people off. They'll shout' Draft 'em all!" and Pindrus will cry "You want to destroy the Torah!"
By saying, "there is a problem with too much reserve duty or financial difficulty" he is defining the crisis as solely being the problem of the community who has contributed the most. The wider crisis and threat to the nation is ignored. It's only the problem of one community. He thus redefines the crisis as not that's there's much work to do, but that some are doing more than their share. In his shallow and superficial view, the implicit solution is that those who are overwhelmed should slack of.
ReplyDeleteFurther proof that any connection that יהדות התורה has with יהדות or תורה is merely coincidental.
It is in the interest of the Chareidi community for Religious Zionism to collapse and disappear. RZ's existence ruins all their narratives of how Torah works or how Torah Jews should look and act. So if this brings about that destruction, they're in favour.
DeleteI wouldn't ascribe such malicious motives. Rather, it's indifference.
