Kollel Tefillas Shacharis - brilliant
I wonder what took so long for someone to come up with this idea...
Someone has figured out that he can turn davening into a money-maker. It has already become a classic that someone might get paid to say kaddish for someone deceased with no relatives who might do it for him/her. But just to turn the entire minyan into a paying kollel? I have not heard of that. Until now.
As the pashkevil above says, while Jewish blood is being spilled we must strengthen ourselves in prayer, and specifically in saying Amen Yehei Shmei Rabba.. with our full strength and energy.
To that end, someone has opened a "Kollel Tefillas Shacharis" that will daven at 8am daily, beginning with a short study session learnign the laws relevant to responding to kaddish and answering amen yehei...
Each 'Avreich that joins will be paid 500nis (per month, I assume). Only avreichim 30 years and older can join.
I wonder why they do not meet at the optimum time for prayer - sunrise - if they are looking to maximize their prayer and its effectiveness, rather than going to the late minyan at 8am.
This could also be the solution for anyone who has a difficult time going to daven - pay them 500nis per month, and maybe that will make it easier.
When they come collecting for Kollel Tefillas Shacharis, pleas eopen your heart, and your wallet, and pay them for something they are already doing anyway. Jewish blood is being spilled, and they can prevent it.

Evidently, many of us are thought to be so busy as to "need" a subcontractor to handle the spiritual side. That, at least, seems to be the theory of "Kollel X" innovators...
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what you mean. when you pay someone to say kaddish, it is because you cannot, or better said, there is nobody else. if you donate to this kollel is it really in place of you because you dont have time for spiritual stuff? does that mean you don't have to daven shacharis because they are davening for you? are they having kavana for you so you dont have to?
ReplyDeletemy question is facetious. Clearly that isnt the point of the kollel - to be in place of you.
It would be interesting to find out more about this initiative. I don't live in a Haredi area, but daven occasionally in them, and there are always stragglers coming in late, and I'm sure others that are too embarrassed to come daven in a minyan so late and look like a bum. I think I heard a question asked to Chaim Valder a few months ago from a woman who was worried about her husband who used to be an avreich but has since slacked off and become a bum at home. Perhaps this is a way to get the 'bums' out of the house into a structured environment?
