he might be right, he might be wrong. that remains to be seen. His tone though is one that sounds to me to be inviting for a fight - there's no way you can do it, you'll only get a few people to show up, what are you going to do here, I'll sponsor the kugel... such comments can even encourage and motivate more people to come, just to stick it to him and to others who think like that.

ReplyDeleteI have no idea whether any demonstrators will show up in Bnei Brak this Shabbat (I hope not), but if they do, the best response would be tables of Kugel and Herring and maybe a bottle of schnapps, and a warm welcome to show them the beauty of Shabbat.
That would not only be a kiddush HaShem, but would let the demonstrators experience the Mitzva of Zachor et Yom HaShabat, and show the the warmth of Torah and Mitzvot.
Unfortunately they are more likely to be greeted with insults and projectiles than warmth and kugel.
