According to Kipa, Yair Sherki is reporting that Yaron Attias has given his wife her gett and is now divorced. Mazel tov.

The Attias couple had divorced under bad terms and he refused to grant the gett. It had gotten to the point that the beis din in Haifa imposed sanctions on Yaron Attias to the point of even calling for his arrest and a social boycott - a move that is rarely used.

The story became even bigger when MK Yehuda Glick invited Attias to the Knesset and it became known and hit the press and Knesset floor and made a big splash. While at first everyone wondered why and Glick refused to explain, he later explained in a long Facebook post that he thought he had the ability to influence Yaron to give his wife the gett and it was supposed to stay secret but someone had spotted Attias walking to his (ie Glick's) office in the Knesset. He went through the entire chain of events and sadly had not succeeded in persuading him to grant it.

After Attias was just arrested the other day he finally agreed to give the gett.
