Switzerland bans face coverings
Switzerland voted today to officially ban facial coverings. While not mentioning Islam, the referendum was clearly targeting Muslims and showing Switzerland as not an optimal place for Muslims to move to. The referendum passed by a tiny majority - tiny but a majority nonetheless.

My only question is, and I have no idea how or what Switzerland is doing regarding COVID-19, how do you ban face covering during a pandemic where one of the most common tools used around the world to combat the spread of the virus is face masks?

They allow an exception for health reasons. No religious exception is allowed.
ReplyDeleteLogic would dictate that any Muslim could claim their Burka is being used as a face mask for health reasons. The fact that it is also for religious reasons shouldn’t negate the health justification.
ReplyDeleteMaybe after decades of countries all over the world being inundated with other peoples and cultures and now with this past year's pandemic and all its restrictions, people have had it and want to go back to their own historic pasts. Nothing other than what comes from G-D's Laws should be foisted on peoples, nations, cultures, etc. After years of all the transitions, people are first waking up to wanting to be themselves. Human nature.
