embarrassing (for the country) visit
Japan's Ambassador to Court, errr I mean to Israel, showed up in court today to watch a bit. During a break in the proceedings PM Netanyahu went over and chatted with the Ambassador..
Even Amit Segal posted the image with the description of it being embarrassing.
Netanyahu should have resigned when indicted. He should have worked to clear his name, and if he would he could then run again for politics. Deep state, blah blah blah. Others were indicted and resigned.

Yeah except the charges were made up. Media bribery? Who has been indicted of this crime "since" Netanyahu? Who before? I thought so. Who OUTSIDE of Israel was indicted or convicted of this 'crime.' And WORSE- the so-called positive coverage was not even positive, the prosecution cheated MANY times by deliberately hiding exculpatory evidence from the defense, and the attorney general could not produce any evidence other than "take my work for it" that the investigation was not illegally launched in the first place.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely not. That gives the AG the power to remove any PM that she doesn’t like.
ReplyDeleteThe secular Ashkenazi left cannot handle that it's no longer the majority and cannot control the country democratically so yes, this is about the AG having the power to remove any PM she doesn't like and she doesn't like PM's who aren't secular Ashkenazi left. Between this and the High Court pushing back against any initiatives it doesn't like from the Knesset, it sends a message to any prime mininster that he'd better rule like a Labour'nik from the 70's or be forced out.
Deletebad take. the whole thing is bogus. it should have zero democratic implications. Dershowitz explained to Mandelblit why it would be wrong to indict (not on a political level). He even acknowledged that during his primetime announcement of the announcement, but offered no response to those who questioned his unprecedented legal theory, and went ahead anyway.
