sorry for my lack of clarity (as you can see I was part of that avodah discussion) - aiui the ah"s wasn't claiming the shvatim had different nuschaot, just that differences in minhag should be respected wherever they originate from becaise diversity is ok. I wanted to know if anyone actually claims the shvatim had different nuschaot.

I recall it being brought down in the into to Tehillas HaShem (Lubavitch). I don't recall the makor, though.
