Some of the Breslavers, among whom it seems to be more common than among any other group, have started wearing these veils to protect them from accidentally seeing any impure sights... It is especially popular among them when they travel to Uman for Rosh Hashana..

ReplyDeleteIf anyone has been to the airport in the summer, you'd know that these guys a making a pious decision. Good for them. People used to dress up in their 'Sunday best' to fly, but now the girls can show up like they are at the beach.
ReplyDeleteHow can it really help? You have to be able to see what's in front of you. All this does is cut off your peripheral vision, causing a safety risk, and there's nothing stopping a scantily clad lady from entering your direct field of vision.
