Actually, the Likud is quite liberal. As was Herut. As was Jabotinsky. It is true that the political divisions in Israel are more genuinely right-left ideological divisions based on social and economic visions, than they are on other values. Both the right and left have serious liberals among them. I think it has always been that way; which is why at times Israeli parties could make strange alliances and coalitions.
