Hanan Ben Ari cancels mobile concert due to violations of lockdown restrictions
Kol Hakavod to Hanan Ben Ari.
Ran Boker, culture journalist reported on Twitter last night that the city of Carmiel hired popular musician/performer Hanan Ben Ari to perform on the music truck that would drive around the neighborhoods of the city and bring cheer to the people under lockdown. Very quickly a crowd formed around the truck and Hana Ben Ari realized that it had become a concert with an audience rather than a performance on a mobile music truck.
After just one song, Ben Ari announced that health is more important than everything else and that he cannot continue the way it is. It is against the law and against the rules of the Ministry of Health, so he wished them a chag sameach and good night with apologies and that he would make it up tot hem another time. Based on his style, attitude and history my guess is that one day when this lockdown is over he'll go to Carmiel and set up a free concert in a park or something like that.
Ynet is reporting that the City of Carmiel responded with the regular blah blah blayh, the residents are under lockdown and following all the rules and they invited the singer of the year Hanan Ben Ari to bring spirit and encouragement during the holiday, and the people were instructed to follow the rules, all within 1000m of the house, masks, distance, etc just like the rules of davening and protests, so this could be considered a spiritual and cultural protest. blah blah blah. the residents are disciplined and responsible and keep the rules properly....
I am not sure if he is arguing with Ben Ari's version of the events, calling him a liar or just saying that they were instructed to keep the rules but didn't... either way, good for Hanan Ben Ari for putting an end to it. I wonder if he tried to get them to disperse before calling it off.

He tried to get them to disperse and they didn't. When he cancelled, they actually applauded him.
