None of the three places he went to has a hechsher. They're also all open shabbos. Katz's doesn't even try to claim to be kosher. The guy showing him around, Paul Weissman, may be a nice guy but certainly isn't frum, I know him, he lives on the Lower East Side near me.
I thought Katz's wasnt kosher. I looked up the other two and thought I saw they are kosher. oh well. episode 2 is all kosher (if I remember correctly - saw it a few days ago)
