Am Yisrael Cheyeglasses

while hanging out overnight on this expedition with his division from the army, my son broke his glasses.

Because he is a local boy, they let us pick him up to go get the glasses fixed. There was a little bit of pressure because he had to be back by a certain time, and making glasses usually is not an immediate thing.

My wife took him to Einit Optical.

They made him new glasses in 10 minutes and it was free!

And we got back in time to where he needed to be!

Check out the note circled in green

The note says: No charge for a soldier at war, with God's help he will return healthy and complete quickly. Huge hug from Einit Bet Shemesh. Am Yisrael Chai!!!

or, Am Yisrael Cheyeglasses!

For months, I was in favour of the judicial overhaul. Sure, the government is corrupt and I can't support it but there was the issue of balance in running the country and it needed to be corrected. What's more? The protestors did themselves no favours. "We're stopping a coup!" "Bibi is as bad as Putin!" "We won't do army service!" "We'll leave the country!"
And then this happened. The same leftists, within a couple of days, organized the entire country and got all the relief efforts going. They showed up for military services. Many of their comrades in Chu"l flew home on the first flight, bringing extra equipment with them. They lined up to donate blood. They kept Israeli society from collapsing.
And the government? Ummmmm.... yeah, after a week they started to catch up.
I'm switching sides. Keep the Supreme Court where it is. We can't let the right run the country.

    1. I imagine you realize that a lot of people who support judicial reform are also "stepping up" and doing all of those things and, you, know, actually fighting in the IDF.

Both your description of the left "keeping society from collapsing" and the government "catching up" are gross generalizations if not entirely untrue, by the way.

  2. Those donating blood, those who flew in from CHUL, those who are collecting moneys, making meals, bringing simcha to the army bases originate from the more right wing community. Not sure what role the Supreme Court has played except where the IDF is not allowed to shoot. or to object to closing the Shalom entry into Israel. to Gaza workers.

    1. the left wing communities are just as involved in helping the war effort as the right wing communities. they were even first to lead the way. Achim Laneshek is running a massive system of making food and clothes donations and helping the displaced families, etc. heard about the treif restaurants from Tel Aviv that kashered kitchens so they could cook for the soldiers?

  3. Yes yes
Just haven’t figured out how the Supreme Court has been helpful.
