Stop Talking About Iran!
All this talk about Iran and its nuclear capabilities, if Israel should or should not attack, when Israel will, what has to happen to make Israel attack, and all the various scenarios disturbs me.
When Israel destroyed the nuclear reactor in Osirak, Iraq, it was done in utter silence. It was successful largely because of the element of surprise.
With the Iran situation, it has lost the element of surprise a long time ago. Sure, the surprise might still be which day it will happen and what time of day, but the various countries the information is relevant to are probably already prepared for the situation to not allow flyovers, to have their radars and defenses honed to perfection and whatever else they need to do. The more the government officials, whether Israeli or American, keep discussing it, the less chance it has for success.
I do not get why the officials themselves do not realize how important the element of surprise in such a sensitive situation. they should all just stop talking about it. Plan what needs to be planned, talk about it behind closed doors in top secret clearance situations and leave the media and public out of it!

Perhaps this should be an indication to you that they really have no plan to do anything, but rather are talking for politics purposes.
ReplyDeleteI never read the news about what a country or government says they plan to do. I only care about, or read the news about things which have already been done, or they are in the process of doing.
Everything else is just trying to influence votes, but I prefer my vote be influenced by the reality, not the hype
The more they talk about it, the less likely a strike is.
ReplyDeleteOr perhaps that's the point. They want people, especially the Iranians, to think that a strike's not imminent so they talk about it a lot but they really DO intend to attack?
Point is: there's a lot going on we have no clue about. We know nothing about what the Mossad is doing inside Iran, for example, or what they have planned there. We don't know what the Americans have told Israel quietly without anyone knowing about it. We don't know what help the Arab states will offer Israel and then deny it later.
We have only our Father in Heaven to rely on. Unfortunately, He's not giving any press releases either!
Garnel, I take it you haven't seen this recent press release from God?
ReplyDelete1. Totally confusing noise, mixed signals, disinformation, etc., can be even better than silence.
ReplyDelete2. There is a history of vain boasting by politicians, so it's not taken seriously.
The "No True Scotsman.." line is such a lame and poor way of defending an argument. How sad. Charedi society may produce many children but the philosophical underpinnings that form the foundation of their chumra practices and fundamentalists beliefs are doomed and frankly can be at times very damaging to all of Yahadut.
