Peace by neglect?
A guest post by Max (Meier) Goldmeier
I had a conversation today with a Palestinian. Here is what I learned:
So what is Israel to do?
Can we have peace by neglect?
I had a conversation today with a Palestinian. Here is what I learned:
- Palestinians only want peace
- Jews have no claim to Israel
- Hamas should drive Israel into the sea
- Israel has no right to defend itself
- Hamas is allowed to hide behind civilians and Israel has no right to bomb civilian neighborhoods
- It is ok for Hamas to attack on Jewish holidays but Israel must respect Muslim holidays
- The Jews should leave Israel
- Hamas is not a terrorist organization
- Israelis enjoy killing Palestinians
I was completely shocked when she said Hamas is allowed to launch rockets from civilian neighborhoods without repercussion.
From these conditions what options are there for peace?
- The Jews leave or die
- The Palestinians leave or die
Can we have peace by neglect?
What do you think?

It has to be true neglect. No electricity. No water. No border crossings at all, in either direction.
ReplyDeleteThe PA Arabs I've engaged on the internet declare that they do not want peace, only their land back and that us European implants should leave (from Israel).
ReplyDelete" Let them launch all the rockets in the world. Israel can set up more Iron Dome units and hopefully soon the Iron Beam" --- please, this is just foolish. Do you think Hamas will stop sending rockets, then, or will make them just more difficult to intercept? Iron dome is based on electronic circuits and eventually they will find a way to circumvent it. They already managed to send a drone to Tel Aviv, didn't they? And if that drone had an explosive in it?
ReplyDeleteLet's not play at a "mouse and cat" game where if we lose we are bombed and if we win we just survive another day.
