gold iPhones in Gaza "highlight" famine conditions

The news has been reporting over the past week that Israel finally approved entry of shipments of new iPhones into the Gaza Strip.

Yes, a People that is supposedly suffering from genocide and famine is tripping over itself to buy iPhone17s, including gold plated iphones with embedded diamonds. They can afford to pay upwards of $10000 for the newest fancy iPhone, or $2500 or so for more basic models, but they cant afford to buy food and are starving?

I hope Israel at least has these rigged for potential future "beeper" style use should it be necessary...

Backsies or No Backsies

A week or so ago French President Emmanuel Macron announced that France would officially recognize a Palestinian State.

In the days since I have heard a lot of talk about this announcement (and about the announcements of other countries in the wake of France's announcement)... those who praised it did not explain how it would work and how it is not a price to Hamas for its terror and refusal to further ceasefire deals, and those who oppose it have asked some good questions and made some good points, but there are a couple aspects of this I simply have not heard discussed and I continue to wonder about.

Specifically in the paragraph where President Macron details:
We need an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages, and massive humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza. We must also ensure the demilitarization of Hamas, secure and rebuild Gaza. And finally, we must build the State of Palestine, guarantee its viability, and ensure that by accepting its demilitarization and fully recognizing Israel, it contributes to the security of all in the region.
So, how are you going to ensure the demilitarization of Hamas? They have not agreed to it until now, so you saying they should demilitarize will be enough for them to agree? And what happens if you announce the State of Palestine and then they do not demilitarize - is there a "no backsies" rule or do you take back your recognition?

What would the borders of this State of Palestine be? Obviously it wont be agreed upon borders, so what will the official borders be?

Who will be the authority of this Palestinian State? The Palestinian Authority led by Mahmoud Abbas? Hamas? Other? Will any of them recognize Israel as the Jewish homeland? And what if they dont?

This seems like a less than half baked idea with no actual plan. Not only does it incentivize further terror, it has some nice ideas with no consequences for lack of follow through.

the irony of PM Netanyahu

The news and developments of the recent days, or maybe weeks, brought out a couple issues that I find ironic.

Everyone says how PM Benjamin Netanyahu is the worlds leading statesman, with nobody having the diplomatic capabilities that he has, definitely not in Israel but also on the world stage. Yet through the rubble and mud of Gaza, justified as it is, Netanyahu has succeeded in turning just about the entire world against us. He still has some of America (and fewer every day) and Argentina behind him, but not much else.

One of Netanyahu's main life goals was to prevent a Palestinian State from being formed, Bar Ilan speech notwithstanding. He has worked very hard over the past 3 decades to prevent it, including moves like building up Hamas to prevent the PA from having too strong of a leadership position among the Palestinians (this strategy eventually turned on him when Hamas became a group of powerful monsters). I find it ironic that Netanyahu himself is going to be responsible for the world recognition of the Palestinian State for running this war with no real consistent strategy or goals and getting mired down into a deteriorating situation with partners pushing him to continue seemingly endlessly. The only goals the world hears about are the goals stated by his partners Smotritch and Ben Gvir (and their ministers) to clean out Gaza, to resettle Jewish communities in Gaza, to stop humanitarian aid, and the like, and the world considers that to be ethnic cleansing and genocidal. And because of all that more and more countries, important ones, are saying they are going to recognize a Palestinian State in the very near future.

Some of you are not going to like this and will call me a Leftist, but this is the current reality, like it or not.

Thank you Prime Minister. Good job.

Gazans to France

France's National Court of Asylum has ruled that all Palestinians form Gaza can apply for full asylum in France.

Good riddance. France can take in as many Gazans as are willing to leave. Enjoy.

This can help Trump's plan of voluntary emigration from Gaza. It seems nobody really wanted the Gazans and nobody was willing to accept and receive them in any significant numbers. France can be a good solution to get that program back on the table. I would only recommend the French Jews get out before too many Gazans move there. Maybe we can do a population swap (voluntary, of course)

is a game afoot?

So it seems President Trump has a strong bark and people are worried about the bite behind it.

I am amazed at how leaders and governments around the world are shaking in their boots from Trump and at the first mention of anything by Trump they almost immediately cave on long-held positions. Without even any serious threat, without trying to call a bluff, without testing waters... just caving.

Trump made an angry comment about the Palestinian Authority's "pay for slay" program by which the PA pays terrorists and their families for their terror attacks against Israelis. The PA, after decades of ignoring complaints and threats from around the world over their pay for slay policy today revoked that policy on a dime.

I am happy they revoked, and curious why they suddenly did after one word by Trump. I do worry that there might be a game afoot. Perhaps Abbas is trying to get on Trump's good side, in light of Trump talking about banishing everyone from Gaza (Maybe Abbas is worried Trump will banish them from Judea and Samaria next, considering how PM Netanyahu has stressed to Trump that the PA is as bad as Hamas)... Will Abbas find a way to funnel the money to the terrorists but slightly less publicly?

If Abbas actually stops these payments, will the terrorists and general Palestinian public, many of whom rely on tat money, rise up against him? Can he stop these payments, even if he says he is?

Take as many as possible

A Member of Parliament in the United Kingdom has tweeted out her plan to save the Gazans in danger of war and disease and famine. Her plan is something called the Gaza Family Visa Scheme. the plan would allow Palestinians from Gaza with family members in the United Kingdom to seek temporary sanctuary in the United Kingdom until it is safe to return to Gaza.

While many online have commented to her about how this is a stupid plan, why bring terrorists to the UK, they are importing trouble, etc.. I personally encourage it.

While I do not call for "transfer", if they want to leave n their own volition, and if the UK government is willing to take them in, I say go. I support this MP in her plan to bring Gazans to the UK. I have no vested interest in the United Kingdom so I do not care if they destroy the UK like they are working on destroying other European countries, after they have done their best to destroy this part of the Middle East. Please, vote in favor of this plan. Bring in as many Gazans as you possibly can. Do not limit it to immediate family, first degree relatives or anything like that - take in 3rd or 4th cousins as well, along with the brother in law of a sister in law of a cousin of an uncle of a neighbor. Take them all. Please.

Tweet of the Day

this is so weird.

The Gazans\Hamasniks are claiming they killed him with a shot form a sniper in Gaza:

First of all, Refuah Shleima to Chaim

Second, it isnt weird that the Palestinians are lying about killing him. Everything they say and do is a lie. Their entire war effort in Gaza is Pallywood and not truthful in the slightest, so that is not what is weird. What is weird is that this is the guy they are so proud of killing. One soldier. As wonderful a person and soldier as he might be, he is one relatively unknown Israeli soldier. They are crazy proud of having killed one soldier as if now they are on the winning track because of it? Very weird

Quote of the Day

I approved a "pilot" that includes allowing entry to Palestinian workers for construction , alongside foreign workers..

-- Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a session of the Foreign and Defense Committee

Haven't we had this pilot running for the past 50 or 60 years? see how well it turned out? Will the pilot be considered successful until a Palestinian worker kills someone or shares information with a terrorist who kills someone?

manna from heaven

Look at that.... manna falls from heaven and they make an unboxing video to show what is included in the humanitarian aid and what is wrong with it... as an aside, how starving can they be if they can complain about their free food? the worst meal he ever had? The Palestinians actually sound pretty Jewish...

stopping aid to UNRWA

UNRWA has been shown to practically being an arm of Hamas as some/many of their staff are actual Hamas terrorists, in addition to some having been involved in the October 7 massacre and some having been involved in holding hostages in Gaza since October 7.

That is besides for the raison d'etre of UNRWA being to keep the conflict going, to keep the Palestinians depressed. No other people in the world get the same level of refugee status the way UNRWA grants this status to the Palestinians.

Israel suggested to the main donors of UNRWA the other day that funding should be stopped, they should know to where their money is going.

Since then one by one all the main donors of UNRWA have frozen the funding, with the EU just announcing a short while ago that they too are freezing their funding pending an investigation.

So Israel got all the countries giving aid to UNRWA to stop while Israel itself continues to send aid via UNRWA every day in the forms of tens of truckloads of fuel, flour, water and equipment (with an estimated 60-70 percent of that aid going right to Hamas) daily.

What a strange situation

The government is examining a pilot to allow Palestinian workers back in from the age of 45 and up

that's what they call a pilot? haven't we been allowing Palestinian workers in for decades already? The pilot of tens of years failed. Were only 44 years olds (and down) involved in terror?
