Has UTJ always tried to reach a broader public, or is that new? Is there any data how many non-charedim and non-religious vote for them?
ReplyDeletethey always make some half-hearted effort. it seems this time they are trying a bti harder. from what I understand, they think it is realistic this time because eliezer sorotzkin is #8 on their list and som e polls have indicated this as a somewhat realistic possibility. they think sorotzkin has some broader appeal in the general public than what they normally hold. despite that, their advertising doesn't mention him, and the parlor meetings they've been holding have, at least some of them have, been without him specifically. I think maybe he just gave them the feeling that they have some appeal among the general public. I happen to like their videos.
