PSA: schedule for separate beaches around Israel
I just came across this file that details the schedules for the various separate beaches around Israel, and thought it might be useful to somebody out there..:

Since you mentioned it, one thing I found annoying as a frum tourist is that all of the separate beaches but the one in Teverya operate by using alternate days. That means that you can never go as a family -- the men have to go Monday, the women Tuesday, etc. That may be fine for Israeli-based families, but it is very inconvenient for tourists, who would prefer to travel together and then split up at the beach into separate areas (as I said, Teverya is the only place you can do that).
ReplyDeleteIf anyone reading this ever has any input into the logistics, it would seem to me that having separate beaches in adjacent areas (obviously screened off so you cannot see) with a single bus stop would be something tourists, and maybe even native frum Israelis, would find useful.
also, most of the beaches operate on the same schedule. it would be reasonable if the women went, say to the ashdod beach on mondays, and the men could go to a nearby beach, maybe ashkelon or rishon, on mondays. but they almost all use the same schedule, so women can go on mondays and men can go on tuesdays (or half day each). alternating beaches should operate on alternating schedules.
ReplyDeletegood resource.
ReplyDeleteI think the Dead Sea and Eilat beaches (not listed) have separate, simultaneous sections.
ReplyDeleteAshkelon is also not mentioned. there might be other separate beaches as well
ReplyDeleteDo you have phone numbers or contact info as to find out where to meet and fees? thanks
ReplyDeleteI do not have any such number, nor am I aware of the existence of such a number. maybe the parks authority. As far as prices, all public beaches in Israel are by law free. They [often] make up for it by charging ridiculous prices for parking nearby.
ReplyDeletesome of the mehadrin beaches (like in ashdod for example) have plenty of parking available and it is free.
thank you so much for listing this i have been searching all over for somthing like this!
