Itzik Elrov has been appointed as [Minister of Negev, Galil and Periphery] Aryeh Deri's adviser regarding issues of cost of living.

Elrov led the "Cottage Cheese Protest" a few years back, after posting to Facebook calling for a boycott of food manufacturers for the constant increase in prices.

I am impressed that this is enough to get someone appointed as a consultant/adviser to a government minister.

I do not know Elrov's background, I don't know what kind of expertise Elrov has in economics that he can advise a minister about this, but it looks like that one Facebook post has now actually landed him a nice job. I hope his expertise is greater than just walking through the supermarket and checking when the prices go up...
