Recent history has been amazing in the sense of the level at which the Haredi politicians support and defend the Rabbanut, when the Haredi community does not rely on the Rabbanut for anything and the Haredi community used to be the first to consider the Rabbanut not reliable, trustworthy or worthwhile. And the Dati community (at least large portions of it) now continues to attack the Rabbanut, disparage it, talk about how unreliable it is (while largely continuing to rely on it), while they used to be the main  supporters of the Rabbanut.
