This looks like an interesting initiative to keeps kids on the derech...
It seems like a fine initiative. Will it work or not - that we won't know until it is tried.
My only question is why do the parents get paid the $10,000 reward? It seems to me that the young couple is really the one deserving of the prize/reward money and most in need of it... they should be the ones getting it...

I think it's a tautology- probably well over 90% of "boys" get married after 20.

DeleteIt isn't a joke. I know a bochur who signed up, including a binding contract. It seems that chassidim have a lower divorce rate, so I'm not sure why we should presume that age is a factor. Do people magically become better husbands with the passage of time? If we let them drive, spend years overseas alone, vote, and serve in the military, why do we take it as a given that they shouldn't get married (with their parents' guidance)?
