First part is right.
ReplyDeleteSecond part is soooooo wrong.
In 1936, Germany was not a concern but an opportunity for the West, especially the British and French who thought that a war between Germany and Russia would be very good for them. That's why they studiously ignored all of Hitler's violations of Versailles. They never thought he was looking west.
And the Americans? They were in the middle of the Depression, they were in mood to go to war in Europe again especially against a country that was no threat to them.
