Actually Jews first arrived in New Amsterdam in about 1635. And Asher Levy set about making sure Jews were considered full citizens of the colony right away. Which for 1635 was pretty amazing
It doesn't really matter how long Jews have been in America. Thanksgiving as an annual observance has only been around since 1863. It seems silly that we would have been arguing about its observance for 53 years prior to its existance.
