The Goons Of Bet Shemesh Disagree With The Yated On Nazi Worldview
Amidst great fanfare, the Iryah of Bet Shemesh, escorted by police, yesterday removed the sign calling for women to walk on the other side of the street. According to reports, the goons came out while the city workers were cutting it down, and tried to oppose them. Among other things, they called the workers "Nazis".
It seems they too disagree with the Yated Neeman. To remind you, the Yated Neeman editorial recently justified gender-segregation by "proving" how basic it is that even the Nazis separated men and women in the concentration camps. In Bet Shemesh, even the sikrikim disagree with the Yated and people who stop gender-segregation are called Nazis...
Just a meaningless thought...

ReplyDeleteMeaningless, but humorous. Thanks for sharing it, Rafi.
ReplyDeleteChag Sameach and Chodesh Tov!
Call people tyrants, genocidal maniacs, cold-blooded killers, but let's save "nazi" for actual nazis.
ReplyDeleteTo throw around the word nazi to describe anyone other than nazis, for purposes of shock value or to antagonize one's opponents (especially fellow Jews) is totally demeaning to those who died in the Shoah.
It's a principle of basic civility and respect for those murdered in the Shoah, and people throw it out the window without a second thought.
I propose we start calling people out on this and put an end to it whenever and wherever possible.
