MK Yigal Guetta (Shas) is in a bit of hot water over a story he told on the radio. He is in hot water within his own party - not from external forces.

Guetta related about how he found out his nephew was going to be getting married to another man. He was invited to be the "mesader kedushin", but he refused. He did however participate in and attend the wedding, and he insisted that all his kids and family members attend as well.

I have no problem with that, even though some do. On the one hand he is a public figure, but on the other hand he is also a person, who loves his sister and his nephew. He loves his family and wants to be a part of their affairs. Decisions like that can be complicated.

He was stupid, as a public figure from a Haredi party, to talk about it on the radio.

People expect life to be black and white, with the ability to make clear cut decisions on every single issue, and that decision would always be the right one in the public eye. That is not the case.
