Lag b'Omer vs Yom Haatzmaut
somebody just told me that the reason why Lag b'Omer is celebrated so vigorously nowadays in certain communities is because they missed out on the barbecues on Yom Haatzmaut that they don't celebrate, so they created a day for themselves to light fires and barbecue.
