Probably one of the most interesting news items of the day is that of a senior Palestinian staffer in the office of PA President Abu Mazen telling reporters from Israel Hayom that Abu Mazen and the PA would really prefer Benny Gantz and his party win the upcoming Israeli elections.

Two reasons were given for their preference for Gantz over Netanyahu.
1. They hate Netanyahu and his right-wing governments
2. they feel that they will be in a good position to take advantage of Gantz (and most of the people running with him) and his being a political novice. They will be able to take advantage for better terms and accomplishments in any upcoming international diplomatic initiatives.

If their lack of parliamentary and diplomatic experience did not worry you until now, the PA are letting everyone know openly and explicitly that they plan to take advantage of that inexperience as well.

It is almost as if they are trying to thwart Gantz's election efforts in advance. They are writing Netanyahu's campaign material all on their own...
