The ceasefire arrangement with Hezbollah/Lebanon is particularly disturbing regarding the residents f the north.
According to reports, PM Netanyahu has told the mayors of the northern towns to not tell residents too come back home upon implementation of the ceasefire. Netanyahu said there is concern the ceasefire will be violated and fighting will renew at greater levels, leaving the northern towns unsafe for habitation.
If the ceasefire is not guaranteed to bring security to the northern towns and let the residents move back home, why bother with it? The fighting in the north was purely to get the residents back in their homes securely. If the ceasefire arrangement doesnt do that what has been accomplished?

It's a concession to Biden so he can claim he ended the war before he stepped down. The pressure on Bibi behind the scenes must be considerable. The only point of his ceasefire is to allow Hezbollah to regroup and rearm while Israel is told to withdraw and let them reoccupy the south.
ReplyDeleteI suppose the hope is that after Trump enters the White House, Bibi will get hte go-ahead to wipe out the rest of the group.
It’s very curious. I saw that Ted Cruz said Israel was forced into it. Makes me wonder how badly ammunition is depleted that Bibi couldn’t wait for Trump. Also, Trump (who I like) is also a man with a giant ego, I thought he would want to be the one to “make the deal”. Biden did not pressure the ICC before they went after Bibi, so I can’t see what the political movement really is. Also, idk how much the population wants to stay at war, but if Hizbullah is not defeated, there was little point in going in. So much we don’t know - LFD
