Jewish Rabbis
A person can be Jewish without being a Rabbi, but can a person be a Rabbi without being Jewish?
Jpost has a funny error in the title of an article that reads:
To the article itself, it says 98 rabbis went from Israel to Argentina to certify the slaughter of meat when normally 15 rabbis go twice a year and stay for a few months.
It is not clear why they needed so many more rabbis now but I think the explanation is that with possibly not being able to go regularly and stay for extended periods of time, they are trying to get much more slaughtering done now in a shorter period of time so need more certifying rabbis to be present at the same time.
Jpost has a funny error in the title of an article that reads:
98 Jewish rabbis fly to Argentina to certify kosher meat
Usually gentile rabbis go to certify meat? Normally Jewish non-rabbis do the certification? The "Jewish" in the title should probably say "Israeli", making another, subconscious, case for the blurring of lines between Israeli and Jewish..To the article itself, it says 98 rabbis went from Israel to Argentina to certify the slaughter of meat when normally 15 rabbis go twice a year and stay for a few months.

the Yaed Neeman's new liberal position on same-sex marriage
so it seems Yated Neeman has taken the next natural step from airbrushing women out of pictures and from encouraging images of families of all-males in the Haredi community to now announcing same-sex marriages..
see the middle announcement of this piece of the "engagement page" from today's Yated Neeman newspaper
and the full page image..
Avraham Harlap and Yaakov Shwartzbrat are getting married! Mazel tov!
Yated has gotten far more liberal than I remember it!
All in good humor here. Yated has announced they regret the mistake and will take steps to ensure it does not happen again..

Hadassah MRI machine stuck to ceiling
This is a serious "oops". Had the guy gotten killed in the process, it might even have been deserving of a Darwin award nomination. Thankfully, he was only a shlemazel and got only lightly injured.
A member of the cleaning staff of Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem went into the room with the MRI machine. He was cleaning and polishing the floor, and somehow did not know, or see the signs, about the fact that the MRI machine is basically a huge and powerful magnet.

Before you enter a room with an MRI machine, you must remove anything on your body that has any metal. A polish machine has an awful lot of metal in it.
This cleaning fellow walked into the MRI room and BAM!! the machine got ripped out of his hands and went flying, and slammed into the machine and the ceiling.
The MRI was damaged badly in the process. The even funnier, sadder, thing is that the other MRI machine owned by Hadassah was also already on the DL waiting for a Siemens serviceman to come repair it. So Hadassah Hospital right now, for an unclear amount of time, has no working MRI machine.

The cleaning crew member is just lucky the machine did not whack him in the head or rip off his arm in the process.

Quote of the Day
We are here today, during the discussions of the committee about the advancement of equality of service.. This is definitely an issue that Kadima does not just support... (interrupted by snickering and laughter) uh, Kadima definitely supports it... (she then continued and made her point)
-- Minister of Justide Tzippi Livni at a faction meeting of Hatnua. Livni accidentally called her party Kadima. I guess being in so many parties in such a short time span can make one slip like that...

Rabbi Frosh died, oops, Rabbi Porush died
Oops. Looks like they had no idea who they were writing about, former MK Rabbi Menachem Porush, and just re-wrote the line in English after seeing the Hebrew spelling.

Freudian Slip of the Day
The following ad ran in a recent weekly ad publication...

Where is says "FBI", I assume it was meant to have said "FDA". Unless with all the recent FBI crackdowns and arrests, and reports of them investigating in Israel, businesses now advertise that they are cleared by the FBI...
