When we arrived here, there was already a people that was living here for many years.. it is clear that what is desired is Eretz Yisrael according to the Torah, but if a government would arise that would say we must concentrate the settlement to large blocs and forgo isolated settlements - I could understand that. It is precisely like when Menachem Begin returned half the Sinai and destroyed Yamit, but nobody claimed he was a hater of Israel.

ReplyDeleteAre you sure you got this quote right? How could Rav Lau make such a mistake? Ben Gurion was still alive in June 1967, but he had long since retired from all political power.
Levi Eshkol was prime minister at the time.
