The US doesn't issue driver's licenses, states do. And the age varies by state. (When I was growing up in NJ, it was 17, and I remember hearing that in some states it was 15.)
ReplyDeleteas mentioned previously, these originate in twitter, where the characters available are severely limited. I adjust it slightly here, but not much., It was shortened from the original phrase that would have read in the US the minimum age requirement for a drivers license is 16 in most states.
