I think the latest theory is that this is an Egyptian tank from either the 67 or 73 war that was brought the the army base that used to be at this location and used for various tests. The base was closed several years back, and it's possible that the tank was either left in a certain place where it eventually got covered by water runoff from rains or maybe it was intentionally covered when the those closing the base did not want to bother moving it.
