I think the claims that 'we're the only ones doing this' are little bit exaggerated; but not by much. Especially among the yeshivot for Anglos.
We have a neighbor who went there with very limited foundations in learning. He spent two years there, then went on to succeed in two yeshivot hesder. Now that he's finished the army, he has started at Hebrew U. He has a broad, inquiring mind and is able to keep up with his learning Torah while taking on the new challenges he has chosen. Yesodei HaTorah seems to have fostered that; so I have a pretty good impression of what they do. This fellow still keeps in touch with them.
Rafi, you know they're your neighbors, right? When our young friend was there, they were on Zanoah.
(BTW, I'll be in your neighborhood the next three Shabbatot, God willing.)

yes, I know a couple of the rabbis who teach there. as well, I've known or met a few boys learning there over the years.
