arrested for growing marijuana
if you heard someone was arrested for growing marijuana and had to guess where this was, you'd probably guess Tel Aviv, or maybe on a moshav with farmland...
Probably Beitar Ilit would not be the first town that would come to mind.
Well, according to Kikar, a 40-something woman in Beitar, from a "well known" family, was arrested for growing marijuana in her house.
I think marijuana should be legalized, as long as tobacco and alcohol are legal. But that is beside the point. If you think it is not out there, or it is someone else's problem, you are wrong. This is everywhere, in every community.

Most likely IMHO it was to be smoked for medical reasons rather than recreational use.
ReplyDeleteI am under the impression that growing for personal use is tolerated, so it's possible that the police were requested to be extra stringent in this case.
ReplyDeleteDid they rely on the heter mechira in order to grow it this year?
