Tzom Gedalya
The common joke about fasting on Tzom Gedalya is "would Gedalya fast for me if I were killed?", considering Tzom Gedalya an extremely minor fast day.
The better question, I think, is, would we fast for Gedalya had he been killed on any other day besides for the day after two days of holiday overeating?

"Tzom Gedalya an extremely minor fast day." I think you are wrong about that. It has the same status as Asarah Bteves and Shiva Asar Btamuz; and no one calls those "extremely minor".
if people pass on it for minor reasons, that would not seem to be halachicly OK as JS wrote, Tzom Gedalia has the same status as Asarah Bteves and Shiva Asar Btamuz only Taanis Ester is of a somewhat "minor" status
As my rebbe once said, all you frum boys will be kind of surprised to learn that almost as a rule, perfectly religious women fast on only two days a year.
Except that Gedalia was killed on Rosh Hashana itself...
