View from the Outside

It is very interesting to see how "outsiders" see us - it seems they see us even better than the way we often see ourselves....

He recently started this new blog to post his updates. They are funny and sometimes crude and give an interesting outlook and insight into the going ons in the army...

JIBS are coming

The JIBS (Jewish and Israeli Blog) awards are on their way... check out the new site that will be used for managing the upcoming award process at jibawards.com

There are some differences in how it will be run this year. Go to the website, read the info, and be a part of it.

There is a group of jbloggers who took it upon themselves to manage this one. Dave from Israellycool , the founder of the original JIBS, has approved of the whole process. This group is hoping to improve the process from previous years so it will be more enjoyable by all and provide more exposure for the various blogs.

Nominations are scheduled to open right after Pesach (Passover), running April 12 - April 19.

For the rest of the schedule and awards, please go to the website.

You're it!

It seems I have been tagged . The latest thing going around is the game in which you select your two favorite blogs you read. they are then tagged and select theirs, yada yada yada.

I read a bunch of blogs and I like them all. I am not really sure how to choose a favorite, as I like different blogs for different reasons.

So, I will select two blogs, that might or might not be my favorite. I am selecting two blogs that I enjoy reading and I am specifically choosing two blogs that I think are smaller and might not be as well known. They can benefit from the exposure, more than the larger blogs can (not that a link from my sire provides all that much exposure, but every little bit counts).

Also, I am an equal opportunity blogger, so I will take the lead of some other bloggers who did so and I will tag one guy blogger and one gal blogger.

DRUMROLL PLEASE!!!!!!

new blog

Feel free to check out my newest blog called Yontiff Thoughts.

As its name indicates, it will be dedicated to my thoughts, chiddushim, and lessons extrapolated regarding the various Jewish holidays.

With Purim on its way, along with daf yomi currently and conveniently learning masechet megilla, the first holiday to be discussed will be Purim and Megillat Esther, with pesach coming right on its heels!

Check it out and feel free to keep coming back for more if you enjoy it...

Hag Sameah!

Jblog Awareness month

Don't forget to be aware of JBlog Awareness Month. Click on the banner at the top of my sidebar and you will be taken to a (semi) random blog. I am randomly changing the link daily (as long as I can remember to actually change the link, no promises), so you never know where you will end. How exciting.

boomerang

We all get the viral emails, right? How often do you get something that you originated?

Does not ahppen to me often, but today it did. This morning a friend of mine sent to me an email with the contents of this post: http://lifeinisrael.blogspot.com/2006/11/sharon-wakes-up.html

I did not write the original spiel. It was written in hebrew. I simply was the first (that I know of) to translate it to English. After I translated it, a few other blogs copied and posted it (I know some gave me credit, maybe there were others as well though that I do not know of.

It seems someone copied it off a blog and sent it out by email. As these emails go, the email has made its rounds and someone sent me the post that I wrote!
