shameless

I dont know many of the personalities on the Left and involved with Achim Laneshek or Koach Kaplan (obviously I have become familiar with some of the main names, but not most of the people involved there), so I dont know who was behind or who was actively involved in tonight's protest in Mea Shearim.

It is a shame they are letting extremists take over the movement and do things that do not advance their goals in any way and will only hinder them. There was absolutely no purpose and nothing to gain by the protest they held tonight in Mea Shearim and all it was good for was to generate some "action" and violence and increase hatred among the two sides for each other.

I have no problem with protests (legal, police sanctioned) even during war. That's part of living in a democracy. Tonight's was just shameful and purposeless.

When the country was down, these groups dropped what they were doing and heroically propped it back up.
But now that things are rolling well, they have gone back to their original agenda - to create instability so the government they didn't vote for can't function and they can say "only we can run the country!"

  2. "letting extremists take over the movement"

It was always the extremists in charge. I saw it close and up front. Don't let them fool you.

"I have no problem with protests (legal, police sanctioned) even during war."

First, that "legal" is one key word. They break the law all the time. Second, no blocking of streets, ever, even if the police say it's OK. (The police are all too happy to close streets- less work for them.) Last night I had to carry heavy groceries a long way home because of these hippies.

Finally, no, I have a problem with them, at all times, and especially now. Just because something is legal doesn't mean it should be done. We have an elected government with regular elections. Trying to bring it down by marching in the streets with torches is about the opposite of "democracy."

(Of course, to these types, "democracy" means no more than "I get what I want.")

The definition of legal is: Anything I do. The definition of illegal is: anything you do that I disagree with.
The definition of democracy is: we win the election. The definition of dictatorship is: we lost the election.
The extremists have always been in charge of this movement and its purpose has always been to bring down a government they didn't vote for in the hopes that yet another election campaign will finally give their side a majority. And if not, strengthening the Supreme Court so, like the Council of Ayatollahs in Iran, it will effectively run the country so the Knesset can't
