During his trip, Bennet mentioned that the Chinese do not care about the PA-Israel conflict and didn't mention it. He used this 'finding' quite proudly. Over this Shabbat, it finally dawned on me why the Chinese didn't raise it - Bennet is merely some economic and religious minister in the cabinet. He is given the red carpet and respect because he is a minister in the government. BUT, he is only the economic na religious minister, and the Chinese (like most other diplomatic visits in the world) will not expect to talk geo-politics with him, the same way that sending one of their ministers to Israel would not be to talk about Taiwan. Only Israeli politicians in Israel can be asked about every subject under the sun, but not so in other countries where you only deal with your sphere.
Bennet, again, shows he has much to learn about the way the world is run.
