Haredi woman, Batya Schiff, competing on Amazons reality show (video)
Batya Schiff is a well-known (not by me, but supposedly well-known) Haredi "presentor".
I am not familiar with this show, but in many similar reality shows they basically survive by eating bugs and other small animals they capture and kill. I cannot imagine how she, as a frum woman, will survive like that. If it becomes pikuach nefesh she would be allowed to eat whatever necessary, but it could be a problem putting yourself in that situation lechatchila. That is besides for the other problems that any frum person would encounter in such an environment - tzniyus, shabbos...

ReplyDeleteNo. It means Motzei Shabbat. As far as the TV schedules are, Shabbat is from morning to night, not evening to evening
DeleteShe is not even a little frum, let alone chareidi. What a disgrace; appears even some chareidim have gone bonkers. No real chareidi woman would even think of going on such a show, nor would her family allow her. What a sick world!

ReplyDeletepersonally I have no idea who she is or what she does. in the various articles about her I saw her described as a presentor (in Hebrew - פרזנטור) which is defined as someone who uses his or her status and popularity in order to promote various items. Maybe she became a presentor after a successful modeling career, or maybe they just dont want to call her a model.
ReplyDeleteHerman wouk would put in all his (screenplay) contracts that the program cannot air on friday or satud nights. Cost him a pretty penny when CBS wanted to rebroadcast hise multi part program over one week insteadof two.
